History

An old disused truck of disbanded E.German National People’s Army, luxury crockery bought at a flea market and the movie ‘Wild Party’ – this was how it all started. Twenty years ago, Sarah Wiener founded Sarah Wieners Tracking Catering in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The business idea: Cooking for movie people directly on location and mothering them with food that was fresh, healthy and home-made with love. The movie people soon became weddings, vernissages, fashion shows and receptions. Soon the key cultural players were enthusiastic about Sarah’s surprise buffets. A larger kitchen was urgently needed and found at ALTE LOKFABRIK [Old Locomotive Factory] in Berlin-Mitte. Right next door ‘DAS SPEISEZIMMER’ [The Dining Room] – Sarah’s first restaurant – was born. Her philosophy was not meant for the mind but the palate. And it worked well.

In 2004 Sarah Wiener played the role of the housekeeper in ‘Abenteuer 1900 – Leben im Gutshaus’. Sarah had long since been past the point of being in the kitchen of her restaurant every day. The creative person needed strong partners in organisation, bookkeeping and logistics. Because old pig breeds had always been more important for Sarah than accounts and lists of account balances. Soon, the Sarah Wiener GmbH with 70 staff was founded. Our company today is a heavyweight in the restaurant industry that nobody wants to forego.
